The Story behind that "Mini-me"

Irgendwann Anfang des Jahres 2025 kam "der Mondcater"  vom Arzt nach Hause und sprach:

Sometime in early 2025, "The Mondcater" came home from the doctor and said:

-"Hey- weißt Du was ich im Wartezimmer in einer Zeitschrift gesehen habe?"

"Hey—do you know what I saw in a magazine in the waiting room?"

-"Nein- was?"

"No—what?"

-"In Reykjavik gibt es das kleinste Punk-Museum der Welt!"

"The smallest Punk Museum in the world is in Reykjavik!"

-"oh!!!"

-"Es ist in einer alten, öffentlichen Toilette! - DA muss unbedingt ein Aufkleber von uns hin!"

 "It’s in an old public toilet! We absolutely HAVE to leave one of our stickers there!"

...manchmal können Urlaubsentscheidungen SO einfach sein.....

...und im November ging es dann los!

...sometimes vacation decisions can be THAT simple... ...and in November, we finally set off!

naja- ok, ...so ganz "los" ging es noch nicht direkt, denn die Mondcatze musste für ihr übliches Vorhaben - heimlich Ausstellungsstücke in Museen auszusetzen- noch etwas vorbereiten ....

Well—ok, we didn’t exactly leave "right away," because the Mondcatze had to prepare something for her usual plan: secretly "releasing" exhibits in museums... 

Und so entstand ein kleiner Punk (mit zunächst noch viel zu kleinem Bass)

der mit uns zusammen nach Island reisen durfte.

Dort wartete erstmal ganz manierlich am Fensterbrett auf den Ausflug ins Museum und träumte davon, für immer dort leben zu dürfen.

 "And so, a little Punk came to life (initially with a bass that was much too small),

ready to join us on our trip to Iceland.

There, he waited quite politely on the windowsill of our apartment

until it was time to head to the museum... dreaming of making this place his forever home.

Als es soweit war, schlenderte die Mondcatze erstmal in aller Ruhe durch das Museum,

in dem an den Klowänden die gesamte Geschichte des Punks in Island zu lesen war,

und suchte dann ein geeignetes Plätzchen, an der der kleine Punk sich wohl fühlte und bleiben wollte.

When the time came, the Mondcatze first strolled calmly through the museum,

where the entire history of Punk in Iceland could be read on the bathroom walls,

and then looked for a suitable spot where the little Punk would feel comfortable and want to stay.

Nachdem die Mondcatze&Cater sich noch eine Weile mit dem Kurator des Museums

unterhalten hatten, verließen sie es zum Feierabend .

.... und nach diesem Gespräch schlich ihnen ein gar seltsamer Gedanke hinterher....

Svarti Alfur hatte erzählte, dass er in der Band Nöp Sänger war, und nun in einer anderen Band Bass spielt. Er ist ein Urgestein der Isländischen Punk Szene, hat einen grünen Iro und....

..... sieht dem kleinen Punker (versehentlich) verdammt ähnlich!!!!!

After the Mondcatze & Cater chatted for a while with the museum's curator, they left the museum at closing time. ...and after this conversation, a very strange thought followed them... Svarti Alfur had mentioned that he used to be the singer of the band nöp, and now plays bass guitar 

in another band. He is a legend of the Icelandic Punk scene, has a green mohawk and...

...looks (accidentally) damn similar to the little Punk!!!!!

Das Punk Museum in Island ist auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert!

Und wenn ihr dort in Reykjavik einmal vorbei kommt, dann besucht "Mini me"

The Icelandic PUNK Museum

Nachdem die Mondcatze wieder zu Hause in Hamburg war, 

vermisste sie den kleinen Punker irgendwie.....

...was sie zur "Musician Edition" inspirierte 

und dadurch noch weitere gehäkelte Punkx entstanden...... 

Once the Mondcatze was back home in Hamburg, she found herself missing the little Punk...

This inspired the 'Musician Edition', and even more crocheted Punx joined the gang
